System Requirements

An x86 Linux binary is currently available, tested on Fedora Core and SUSE.

The graphical load of the ProtoCollum ™ tool is fairly light weight. Testing on an older Pentium II 300 Mhz Linux box with 8M of video memory showed real-time response to typical user actions.

Other operations in the tool require more compute power. For example, an architectural update for a large Edit sheet (over 360 architectural events) required about 12 seconds on a Pentium II 300 Mhz box. The same update requires about 5 seconds on a newer platform with a Pentium IV 2.4 Ghz processor.

The limiting factor is not processor speed, but bus bandwidth as large data sets are involved. A large design with nearly 10,000 modeling objects creates an executeable of 110 Meg. The installed tool requires 12 Mbytes of disk space.

You will receive an email giving you a download password to enable immediate download of ProtoCollum. Please allow 5 business days for delivery via email of your final individual production license which will convert the download package from a 30-day trial version to a production version.

Getting A Trial Version

A fully functional trial version of ProtoCollum is also available for testing and evaluation. These are the conditions for getting a trial version:

1. You need to provide a valid email address. We will use that address to send an email message with a download password to enable you to get the trial version.
2. The trial version will only work for 30 days. Thereafter if you like ProtoCollum and want to keep using it, you need to buy a copy.

In return, this is what we promise to do:

1. The software you get will be fully functional--no intentionally broken or missing features.
2. If you like ProtoCollum, and you purchase a copy from us, your trial version can be activated and turned into a production version without a need to re-install, which saves you time and hassle.
3. We will not sell or share your email address with anyone. We will send a follow-up email when your 30 day trial is about to expire.
